Penis Enlargement
Content
Description
Methods for penis enlargement in the field of plastic surgery include two approaches:
- The first is the optical lengthening (or phalloplasty) of the penis by cutting the suspensory apparatus (ligamentum suspensorium penis). This procedure will cause the penis to drop and thus become optically larger. This procedure has no effect on the erection.
- The second is an increase in the volume of the penis, either temporarily using filler materials with hyaluronic acid, or permanently using fat transplantation (lipografting).
Facts
- Local or general anesthesia
- One-day surgery
- Procedure takes about 60 minutes
- Recovery in 7 days
Surgical cutting of the ligament of the suspensory apparatus beneath the pubic bone.
- Operation is performed under general anesthesia.
- The procedure takes about 45 minutes.
- The penis will drop and optically lengthen by 1 - 2 inches (aprox. 2 - 4 centimeters).
- Lengthening is possible because up to one third of the penis is located below the pubic area.
Increase of the volume can be performed with 2 main approaches:
- Hyaluronic acid adds volume to tissues, which leads to a satisfactory result.
The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia and takes around 40 - 60 minutes.
Sexual abstinence is required for one week. However, hyaluronic acid is absorbed over time and the effect lasts for around 6 - 18 months.
- Lipografting is a method in which fat is harvested using liposuction (most often from the abdomen or inner thighs) and then after processing it is applied using gentle injections into the penis.
This will enhance the required volume.
As the applied fat must heal, several sessions are often required for final shaping.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 60 minutes. Sexual activity is possible after 4 - 6 weeks.
